Freebie Friday!

It’s Freebie Friday again and I’m even posting it on Friday! LOL! With Easter coming and Spring fast approaching, I drew some new images to celebrate the season!

All my previous Freebie Friday images were vintage, public domain images, digitized and cleaned up. This week, I finally decided to take the next step and digitize my own drawings! I’m so excited to offer these to you! If you like them, grab them while you can because they may just disappear after Easter.

Doesn’t the Easter Bunny deserve an Easter basket? What could be better for a hard working bunny than a basket of carrots:

Here’s a funny little bunny for you:

and some Easter/bunny sentiments:

You’re free to use these images for anything you like. You may use them on handmade items to sell but you may not sell these digis. If you show your work online, please give me credit. Do not repost these digi files on your blog. I’d love you to share my digis but please do so by sharing a link or directing them back to this blog. Thank you! Enjoy!

Get well, doctor’s orders!

I needed a get well card this week and realized my card stash was really low on them! Time to get busy whipping up a few! You know I love the House Mouse stamps. Those adorable little critters always bring a smile to my face. What could be more perfect for someone in need of a little cheering up?

I used the Mojo Monday sketch #230:

Well, it made me grin so I hope it gives the recipient a lift too! The stamp is House Mouse, ”The Quick Fix”. The papers are from the Heidi Grace Daydream collection.

Another giveaway worth sharing!

How do you color your images? Do you use watercolors? Colored pencils and a solvent? Crayons or pastels? I usually use watercolor pencils and a blender pen but I’ve been dying to try alcohol-based markers. The colors you can achieve through blending and layering is incredible!

Here’s a chance to give them a try! Letraset is celebrating the arrival of Flexmarkers in the US by giving away a full set of all 90 markers to a very lucky person!!! Wow! I would be over the moon to win this! To enter, go to http://going-buggy.blogspot.com/2012/02/win-complete-set-of-flexmarkers.html and leave them a comment with a way to get a hold of you. Good luck! I have my fingers crossed!

Freebie Friday

I’ve had a bit of a mental block in coming up with new images for you this week so I hope you won’t mind if we continue with the marine life theme from last week. I have some more lovely shells to share:

And how do you like this vintage octopus? I think he’d be great on a steampunk/ 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea themed card or maybe a pirate theme?

Bright and Beautiful

I love romantic, girly color schemes- lots of pinks, roses, soft blues, and greens, etc. Bright, even intense yellow and orange are way outside my usual palette. I was so drawn to this gorgeous dimensional butterfly however, I decided to just run with it. This ”sunny” and cheerful card is the result!

The inside detail:

I really enjoyed making this card and stepping outside my color comfort zone. I especially love the gold accents in the glitter on the butterfly, the brads and the metallic ribbon. The yellow paper is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The orange papers are from the Summer Kiss stack by Colorbok.

20 Minute Card!

I wanted to challenge myself to make a 20 minute card for a challenge at http://365cards.blogspot.com/ This challenge was so tough!!! It took 3 tries with different cards for me to finish one in 20 minutes!  I finally did it using the latest CPS sketch. I did pull all my supplies and have my full game plan in mind beforehand, and I fussed with the bow a little after time ran out. But, I really did put this card together in 20 minutes, including cutting out the papers and tag, distressing the focal, and stamping the tag!  Whew! That was fast!

I used CPS Sketch #254:

The focal piece is a Victorian era, German trade card digital image. I just love it! It’s just so sweet and spring-like! The tag and trade card images are available free from http://farfarhill.blogspot.com/ The ”friends” stamp is from an unmounted set, ‘Special Thoughts’ by Inkadinkadoo.

Sparkle and Shine

I’ve had this butterfly card in the back of my mind ever since I saw it done up in the Jan/Feb 2010 issue of Paper Crafts magazine. Heather made me this large, dimensional vintage butterfly that I knew would be perfect for it! Here is the original by Betsy Veldman.

Here is my version:

and a little detail of the inside:

My friend Sara gave me these lovely glittery papers last week. I think they’re perfect!

Rhapsody in Blue

Heather and I have been pouring over the gorgeous cards at  http://selmasstampingcorner.blogspot.com/ I love her style and am coveting all those fabulous diecuts she uses! I was inspired after seeing her work to make this card:

I love how it turned out! The butterfly is one of Heather’s vintage digis done up as a decoupage. The leaves are from a Martha Stewart punch and … The round doily is cut on a Spellbinders Nestie and the large label shape is a Sizzix die. The stamp is by Stampin’ Up!

Birdie Just Because

This is another CASE’d card. This fun card by Piali really stood out to me. See more of her work here: http://touchofcreation.blogspot.com/2012/01/hello.html Here is her card:

Cute huh? Here is my version:

I didn’t have the darling birds she used so I modified the free digi birds found here: http://rubberstamping.about.com/od/digitalstamps/ss/A-Little-Bird-Told-Me-Free-Digital-Stamp.htm.  I removed the legs, mirrored and colored them and added separate wings. I didn’t have B&W baker’s twine so I made this faux baker’s twine by coloring white twine with a sharpie. The sentiment is by A Muse Artstamps.

I tried to make this card for a challenge to ”make a card in 20 min or less.” Yes, I realize now that was a little insane but I really tried. I almost made it. Aside from making up the birds and prepping the faux twine before starting the clock, I made it in about 27 minutes. Whew!

Ribbon Bonanza!

So I decided to jump on board with the Pixie Dust Studios CASE challenge as well. There was this awesome card I saw recently while perusing Princess4101’s SCS gallery:

Isn’t it fabulous?! I love how happy and exuberant it is! You can find her card here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1058152?&cat=500&ppuser=75022&perpage=12&thumbsonly=1 Take a look at her other cards too – so fun!

Here is my quickie version:

The inside detail with sentiment by Imaginations!:

Such a fun card! I loved pulling out all these fun ribbons and doing the wonky stitching. I’m a quilter and am a very precise, straight seam sewer so it felt really weird to purposely sew off-kilter like this. Fun though!   The stamps are from the Delight in Life and Watercolor Garden sets by Stampin’ Up.
