A little bit of Victoriana

Wow,  the week has flown by yet again! I’ve been playing with making flowers again and trying to make cards in the Victorian style. You know, lots of ribbons, bows, floral arrangements, lace, etc… It’s been a stretch for me as I don’t usually put so many elements on my cards but I really like how they’re turning out!

My friend Susan turned me on to a great blog run by a very talented local lady. Selma does the most amazing detailed, yet clean and crisp, lacy, floral cards. Her work inspired me to do this card. I hope you’ll take a peek at her blog. If you like this romantic kind of look, you’ll love her cards!  http://selmasstampingcorner.blogspot.com/

I made my own flowers using a Tim Holz for Sizzix die for the rolled roses and leaves and punches for the Forget-Me-Nots. I inked the petals of the roses with a sponge and pigment inks to give them a natural blush.  The embossing was done with a Cuttlebug folder. The dragonfly is one of my own digi images (shared with you in a past Freebie Friday post) that I layered up with dimensionals. The sentiment is a wonderful sticker by K&Co (Love their stuff!!!).
