I really like the look of steampunk. It’s just so cool in a Jules Verne kind of way! I hadn’t made anything in the steampunk style yet but was itching to. So when I found some awesome free steampunk digis at Beyond the Fringe, I knew it was time!

I used the CPS sketch #26:

This sketch was a real challenge to me. It just seemed like so much ‘stuff ‘ for a card front! Then I realized this may be the perfect opportunity to use all my little steampunk components and images from Beyond the Fringe. I distressed and inked the edges on everything and colored the images with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. The ”Journey” sentiment is from Create with TLC. I made the ”lift” sentiment myself.  I thought the faux stitching and grommets added a lot to the look. I absolutely love this card! I think its one of the best ones I’ve made so far and I’m really proud to have come up with this from a sketch that had me stumped!

    • Thanks! I realized after posting it to Penny Black and More that they have a no digi rule and this card used both regular and digi stamps. Oops! I removed the link back from my post after realizing my mistake but I couldn’t delete my entry from the linky. 😦
